Key and Peel (Hot Ones) Animation [2021]

As one of the first major projects for my Animation II class, we were tasked with choosing a 60-second clip of our choice to animate using. I chose a clip from First We Feast’s popular YouTube show, Hot Ones. In which the host, Sean Evans, asks deep and interpersonal questions to guests as they fight their way through hotter and hotter wings.
This specific episode had comedy legends Jordan Peele, and Keegan-Micheal Key as the special guests of the day. As you can see from the clip, things swiftly devolve into chaos as the pair reach the end of their Scoville journey.

Playblast Example 2

Playblasting is a way of capturing a snippet of animation in Autodesk Maya (A 3D modeling, rigging, and animation software) that shows you the view through the viewport and not a fixed camera. This is an example of my Key and Peele Animation from a lower angle when I was mostly focusing on creating fluid movements.

Playblast Example 1.

This was the first playblast I ever made for this project. It took over an hour and a half for my sleepy little laptop to actually complete it! I think it was one of the longest hours of my life, I was so nervous that it was going to burn out my hard drive!
